From there it’s about a five minute walk to the Premier Inn. It is a longer walk down to Bayswater to Hotel 63 by Kensington Gardens, but this place is well-regarded by some of the London regulars here. The Lancaster Gate tube stop is close, or you can catch the 148 bus which goes to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. I don’t bother as the quality isn’t very good but with young kids it’s probably worth it as they’re less fussy.

It’s very popular and every afternoon we saw forlorn travelers waiting for their slot to open up. Fortunately there’s a nice bar downstairs with wifi and spotless toilets. I think we DID have washcloths here, a rarity on our European travels.

I have not done the Premier Plus room, but I do like the value of Premier Inn. I looked at this hotel online and for the random days that I picked in September, I noticed the price difference per night was 50 pounds. I don’t think that rooms are necessarily larger than the regular rooms from the pictures, but they do have the mini-fridge.

Other days, it’s light breakfast somewhere outside the hotel and then a bigger lunch. I agree with Golden Girl and Helen about the bacon. I thought all bacon was like Canadian bacon until I stayed with a friend in LIverpool and he made breakfast with some bacon he got at a local farmer’s market.
Chilli Chicken Recipe
I got no such pleasure at the Premier Inns where I stayed. It was quite disappointing to stay in such a generic room so utterly lacking in character. For that reason, I wouldn’t choose to stay at a Premier Inn again. PIs are in good locations so you can almost always find one. Breakfast is usually not included, but you can buy it for a decent price (I think I paid around £7 for a continental breakfast and £9 for a hot meal).
I’ve decided not to prepay for PI’s breakfast. But we’ll eat at the PI most of the time unless we tire of it after a few days. I also love the convenience of being able to return to the room to brush teeth—especially since my son just got a fixed retainer. It’s not the greatest quality food, but it’s plentiful. Depends whether you like to get breakfasted before doing anything, or you’d rather get out and about and find some nicer food en route.
Chicken Bacon One Pot Meal
It’s convenient as well because otherwise you have to get the kids fully dressed and everything sorted for the day just to go out and get breakfast. We never pre book and have never had a problem but we are early risers so usually beat the crowd. That gives flexibility if you wake up and decide you need a change of pace.
